About Susan Compagner

Susan Compagner has spent her whole life on the West Michigan shoreline, and for 35 years she's helped buyers and sellers here reach their goals. As an Associate Broker with Carini & Associates, Realtors, Susan focuses on waterfront property along Lake Michigan, Lake Macatawa, and the Kalamazoo River. She is also a go-to resource for lakeshore condominium communities, including Sawgrass and Laketown Crossings in Holland.

Susan believes in really listening. Before she shows a single home or prices a listing, she makes sure she understands what her clients want and why. That approach has made her one of West Michigan's consistently top-producing agents, with a business built almost entirely on referrals and repeat clients. Her clients often mention her attention to detail, her honesty, and her willingness to handle the hard parts. She'll coordinate with title companies and lenders, and she'll arrange cleaning and staging when a family is selling a loved one's home.

Susan was an early adopter of real estate technology and online marketing, and she keeps her skills sharp by attending the Michigan and National Association of REALTORS® conventions every year. She was named the Women's Council of REALTORS® "Realtor of the Year" in 2012 and previously served as the council's President. She has also served on the West Michigan Lakeshore Association of REALTORS® Board of Directors and its Professional Standards Committee. Susan co-founded MichLakes.com and founded the Compagner Real Estate Consulting Group.

Away from work, Susan and her husband, Michael, are active members of the West Michigan yachting community. They are licensed captains of their 55-foot Chris Craft Roamer, so when it comes to life on the water, Susan speaks from experience.
